Process and timing
Daily refresh at 07:00 GST. Sources are collected once a day. The morning brief is generated afterwards (around 08:20 GST).
Relevance filtering. An AI model first discards items that are not relevant to the two theaters or to the ICRC and the Movement.
Classification. Related items are grouped into events. Each event is classified by an AI model for theater, category, ICRC mention, stance toward the ICRC by speaker group, risk, escalation signals, narratives, claims about the ICRC (checked against the canon in the Press Room) and places, and receives a recommended action and a draft press line.
Aggregation. Indicators, perception and narrative trends are pre-computed in the pipeline; the app reads them as they are.
Limits
- The classification is machine-generated and unverified. Risk, stance, escalation, assessments and draft lines can be wrong.
- Partisan and state sources are included deliberately, for monitoring, and are labelled by perspective.
- Armed-group channels are monitored for situational awareness only.
- Casualty figures and other numbers are reported by their sources and are not verified by the ICRC.
- Nothing in this app represents an ICRC position.
